Timber Framed Glass Doors
What are timber framed glass doors and would they make a great addition to your house? Glass doors are typically used for windows and doors, in most cases, for paneling. Owners choose to have doors that are made of glass for specific locations in the house. For example, glass doors are placed at the back of the house because the home owner wants an unobstructed view of the garden or backyard.
Glass doors are used to connect the home’s interior to the outside world. Owners who select timber as glass door frame are going for a particular effect or ambiance. Timber framed glass doors can create a beautiful natural warmth, and for people who prefer a more traditional aesthetic this is a perfect choice.
Timber Framed Door Options
Timber framed doors are not limited to traditional homes. Expansive timber framed doors can also work well with a contemporary aesthetic and there are companies that use large, stunning timber framed glass doors in their buildings and offices.
For homes, a wood framed door is a great option. But care should be taken to ensure durability and privacy. Cut glass panels set in timber frames look beautiful as a front door. A larger expanse of glass in wooden frame works well with bigger doorways and oversized openings that lead to patios or areas for entertaining guests.
A great insulator, timber not only looks charming as a glass door frame, it’s also energy efficient.
Timber framed glass doors are available in a wide range of configurations: two, three, four, six panel and custom-made panel. They should come with a smooth operating aluminum track system and heavy-duty rollers for easy sliding.
